Considering that right now subscribing to Desktop Push Notifications is only possible via Safari, a lot of your Mac readers, even if they would want to subscribe, might never become aware of this option.

Although Safari is installed on every Apple computer, globally 42% of people browsing the internet use Chrome and 16% use Firefox.
That is why we’ve implemented a call to action banner to help you easily inform your readers that your site has Safari Push Notifications enabled.  Once the feature has been activated, a banner will fade in when a reader using a Mac visits your website using a different browser than Safari.Subscribe Call to Action Banner for Safari Push Notifications

You have a total of 6 positions for the banner to choose from: top or bottom bar and bottom, middle and top for the left and right side of the screen.  The banner fades out when clicked on and will not be displayed again after 2 closes.
